Fresh paint on your kitchen cabinets is an inexpensive way to update your home! The surface of your cabinets does not matter, as long as the preparation is done correctly.
- you must sand the existing sheen from the doors, this will allow the primer and then paint to adhere to the original surface for years to come. At Elite, we typically use a grit between 100 and 220. you do not have to sand the sheen right down, but enough to scuff it up.
- Apply 2 coats of Styx primer. Use a 6 inch 10mm micro fiber roller to apply. Sand in between coats. Wait 6 hours to apply second coat.
- Apply 2 coats of Cabinet Coat paint, specifically designed for cabinets. Sand in between coats.
- be careful in the kitchen for 30 days as it takes that long for the paint to fully cure!
Enjoy and enjoy this beautiful day, whatever you are doing!
